GeoScan Subsurface Surveys was contracted by a GC in Downtown Vancouver to locate post tension cables as well as conduit and other targets within the concrete slab.
The client was looking to determine whether their proposed floor plan, set to include six units per floor over six floors, and numerous holes per unit to accommodate new plumbing and electrical, would work or would there be any danger of hitting structural post-tensioned cables.
Undertaking the project, GeoScan utilised Xradar technology & scanned over three hundred and sixty locations using ground penetrating radar and after some consultation with the engineer and design team, GeoScan drilled all holes successfully.
